Treasure Cay is a community on the Bahamian island of Great Abaco. Abaco is located 175 miles due east of West Palm Beach, about 120 miles long and 15 miles wide, with a population of about 15,000 native Bahamians residing at Marsh Harbor, Cooperstown and Treasure Cay. Treasure Cay is located at the center of the island and has its own airport, 10 miles from the resort and is accessible from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando Florida. This means you are only a little more than 4 hours from Boston via a variety of airlines. All you need is proof of US citizenship to enter and the customs officials are very friendly. By the way, there is a departure tax of $15.00. Treasure Cay is a ideal destination for visitors to stay because it is centered between these above mentioned Islands and is located on the main land which offers easy accommodations if you are arriving by air or by boat. The airport is only seven miles away, so a short cab ride will have you in the resort in only a few minutes. Those visiting by boat have one of the most protected marinas in The Bahamas to tie up to, the 150 slip marina is completely surrounded by cement seawall and has 6ft of water in the channel at low tide. The Treasure Cay hotel is overlooking the marina and offers ninety four rooms and has boat slips directly in front of the rooms. There are a lot of different types of accommodations surrounding the resort including beach front condominiums, beach villas, canal front homes and condos and so much more. The resort also has the spinnaker restaurant open for breakfast and dinner and Friday night Bar B Q, as well as the Coco Beach Bar offering lunch and every Tuesday is Western and Country night. The Tipsy Bar is open every night and has live music on the weekends, also Thursday is Pizza Night at the Tipsy where you can come and enjoy pizzas made just the way you like them. There are other restaurants near the resort offering shuttle vans for picking up or dropping off customers or you can rent a car or golf cart to get around. The 18 hole golf course is only minutes away and the club house is open daily for club and cart rentals. Treasure Cay is mostly visited for its beautiful 3.5 mile beach, the quiet, white sandy beach is a true symbol of the beauty that The Bahamas has to offer.
