BONEFISH: This highly prized inland saltwater game fish is a favorite among light tackle enthusiasts due to its sustained runs and fighting ability. The bonefish is bluish in color with bright silver on its sides and a pronounced, forked, tail. It also has dark streaks between its rows of scales and its mouth is on the underside of its snout. The bonefish frequent grassy flats and reefs on many of the world's oceans to feed on shrimp, worms, and crustacean. Its migration is dependent upon the rise and fall of the tide. Often bonefish will travel is schools of ten or more fish and can be spotted feeding as their tails break the surface of the water. The bonefish ranges in size from 4-6-pounds on average, although larger fish of up to 20-pounds have been recorded.
